In the southern end of the Bhajan Hall is a small room. This small room was the ANANDASHRAM started by Beloved Papa in 1931. It was here that Swami Ramdas and Pujya Mataji lived with a handful of devotees in those early days of the Ashram, and it was the launch pad for their unique mission of Universal Love and Service. This room is now called the shrine.

Madikeri Fort: This magnificent fort was built by Mudduraja during the 17th century and later rebuilt by Tipu Sultan in granite. It was then named Jaffarabad, which becomes one of the most popular attractions in Coorg. In the year 1812-1814, Lingarajendra Wodeyar renovated the palace, making its architecture worthy.

Omkareshwara Temple: Built by the King Lingarajendra in the year 1820, Omkareshwara Temple reflects both Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture and is a one the famous attractions in Madikeri.

St. Mark's Church: St. Mark's Church was built by the East India Company in 1859 and later taken over by the Government of Madras. In 1971, Government of Karnataka took charge of the church and today it is a prime tourist destination in Madikeri. One can visit Madikeri Fort Museum, located in the same building as the Church

Madikeri lies in the Western Ghats and is very near to places like Mysore and Mangalore. Visitors often come here to explore the coffee plantation, which is a common business here.

GOLDEN TEMPLE

GOLDEN TEMPLE The famous Monastery or the Golden Temple is situated at a distance of 34 km from Madikeri and 5 km from Kushalnagar. Namdroling Monastery is a beautiful Buddhist Monastery situated in Bylakuppe. Bylakuppe is the second largest Tigreen grass heritage ns settlement in India after Dharamshala. This Buddhist Monastery is one of the most popular tourist places to visit in Coorg.
A truly beautiful temple for Lord Buddha located in bylakuppe near Coorg. The entry is free and one is expected to remove ones shoes while entering. The temple is very beautifully decorated in a very unique way both inside and outside. The deities of buddha being around 60-65 feet. A really majestic temple which surely requires a visit.

This temple has a proper allocated parking place and upon entering the temple you can find a peaceful place with the mesmerizing view of the temple and the beautiful architecture.

The detailed paintings, the Golden Buddha's, the premises and the architecture of temple - all are really good and worth the trip. The way the statue's glow in the natural sunlight and the way it brighten up the room is something you have to witness yourself. There are areas inside the premises where the entry is restricted during their prayers, and for some areas you might need to get special permissions. But the main Buddha Temple premises is open for the visitors.

In fact, you can also see the neighbouring towns of Kanhangad, Kottikkulam, Pallikkara and Uduma from here. In the past, the observation tower was strategically important to keep an eye on intruders and safeguard the fort against enemies. There are many holes in the outer wall of the fort that were used to aim at and attack intruders.
